There is a moment when the mountains close in, the road disappears into the mist and the outside world suddenly feels very far away. Scotland Skye High is a six-day small-group journey from Belfast to Edinburgh, travelling through deep Highland glens, along the shores of legendary lochs and across the sea to the wild beauty of the Isle of Skye. Expect ancient castles, colourful harbour towns, dramatic landscapes and stories shaped by clans, battles and centuries of Scottish history. This is more than a journey through Scotland—it is a chance to slow down, breathe in the Highland air and discover what lies beyond the next horizon.
This 6 day Scotland Skye High isn’t about rushing from place to place—it’s about slowing down, digging deeper, and truly connecting with the stories, people, and spirit of Scotlands Highlands. With small groups, expert guides, and an all-inclusive approach, this tour offers the perfect balance of exploration and ease.
Let the road lead you into Scotlands past—and come away with memories to last a lifetime.
Your Scottish adventure begins before sunrise as we sail from Belfast to Cairnryan. Watch the Irish coastline fade into the distance and Scotland slowly appear across the water. After lunch in lively Glasgow, the city streets give way to wooded hills, quiet lochs and the colourful harbour town of Oban.
The following morning is yours to enjoy at a relaxed pace before we travel into the Highlands. The road through Glencoe twists beneath steep mountains and tumbling waterfalls, revealing a landscape shaped by ice, time and turbulent history. There may even be an opportunity to see the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct before arriving in Fort William.
From here, the scenery becomes wilder. We pass the romantic Eilean Donan Castle before crossing onto the Isle of Skye, where rugged peaks rise above dark lochs and narrow roads disappear towards the horizon. Enjoy lunch beside Portree’s colourful harbour, then choose between a walk beneath the Old Man of Storr or an early arrival at our peaceful country-house retreat.
Leaving Skye behind, we follow the Great Glen towards Loch Ness and Inverness. Keep watch across the deep, mysterious water—you never know what might be hiding beneath the surface.
The next chapter carries us into the Scotland of clans, battles and ancient mysteries. Depending on the day, step onto the battlefield at Culloden or stand among the prehistoric stones of Clava Cairns. We then travel through the magnificent Cairngorms, stopping for lunch in charming Pitlochry before ending the day with a walking tour of historic St Andrews.
Our final journey takes us to mighty Stirling Castle, where some of Scotland’s greatest stories come vividly to life. From there, we continue to Edinburgh, bringing six unforgettable days of island landscapes, Highland legends and warm Scottish welcomes to a close.
